March 3 - Junior/Teen/Miss Redbud Pageant Sponsored by the Louisiana Redbud Festival Association. Pageant is for girls 11-19 years of age. Crown and cash awards will be given. Vivian Elementary/Middle School, 7 p.m. Admission: $5 adult, $3 students. Call Shelli at 318-393-8655. Print Entry Form
March 3 - Little Miss Redbud Pageant Sponsored by the Louisiana Redbud Festival Association. Crowns awarded to top winners, trophies awarded to everyone. Newborn-10 years of age. Entry fee $40 plus $5 for photographic and/or $5.00 for Best Dressed. Sunday dress in all divisions (no pageant dresses). Vivian Elementary/Middle School, 10:00 a.m. Admission: $5 adult, $3 students. Redbud Photo Contest Annual Photo Contest. Entries can be submitted to KNCB radio station or mailed to P. O. Box 1, Vivian, LA. Deadline is March 14th, 2012. All Entries must be 8x10. Redbud Coloring Contest Sponsored by Dempsey Oil and Louisiana Redbud Association. Grades Pre-school - 3rd. Deadline is March 11th. Coloring sheets are available at KNCB Radio Station. Call Chanda at 318-375-2415 (after 5:00 p.m.)
March 12 - Mayor Stephen Taylor Clean-up Day Mayor Stephen Taylor, LA Redbud Assoc., and the Vivian Chamber of Commerce ask you to take this day to clean up your yard and surroundings. Juice and donuts will be served on the town square at 8:00 a.m. on March 12. A Litter Poster Contest will be sponsored by the Dempsey Oil Company. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 5th Grade. Call Diane at 318-375-3856.
March 12-16- KNCB Treasure Hunt Sponsored by North Caddo Broadcasting Company. Clues will start at 6 a.m. on March 12 and will be given once each hour on radio station 1320 AM/105.3 FM. Treasure is worth $300. If you find the treasure and have a Redbud Treasure Hunt Card, you will receive $50 extra. If you have a newly designed LA. March 17, 2012- REDBUD DAY!!!
Redbud 5K Run & Health Walk Sponsored by the La. Redbud Assoc. 13th annual event. USATF Certified. Age divisions, male & female: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & over. Registration is $10 for students, $15 for adults in advance, $13 & $18 after March 12th. Run will start at the Vivian United Methodist Church at 8 a.m. and will end at City Hall. Awards given male and female overall and three deep in age categories. Call James 318-375-2492.
Pancake Breakfast Sponsored by the Vivian Community Club. Pancakes, sausage and all the trimmings have attracted hundreds of people for over 25 years to this famous event. Redbud Parade Sponsored by the La. Redbud Association. 48th annual parade. Area participants will start from the North Caddo Magnet High School and will be greeted by thousands of spectators as they travel down HWY 1. 2ND Annual Louisiana Redbud Festival Car Show Entry Fee: $10.00 for first car, $5.00 for second car. All cars after 2nd, no charge. Same owners only on multi car discount. Show hours are 10am-4pm.
